Suggestion to correct the scratchy sounds? Connie, It is likely the CD player is on its way out. Have you tried the discs in your car, or on another machine to see how they sound? If they sound good there, check to see what input the CD player is connected to on the back of the Pioneer, make sure it is not plugged where it should not be. Sometimes the input circuit on the receiver goes bad, and connecting to another one will clear the problem up.
