My wireless connection has been unsecure since last December, however just since yesterday have I been getting these notifications on my security history. That is what is confusing me.
Similarly with the Norton Community Watch. I've had my subscription since last September but it is only since last week I've been getting these notifications on my history also.
Yes Norton should have been logging these events all along. I'm not sure why it did not, but what you see now is normal activity. The only threat apparent is the wireless setting in your router, which you really should address.
Does changing the view in the Norton History to "Norton Community Watch" reveal any earlier submissions that you were perhaps unaware of? When you say the only threat is the wireless setting in my router, do you mean because it isn't a secure network? I changed the view in the history to Norton Community Watch. Still the earliest submission was 3rd August.
I can't think of why this is but I'll keep an eye on it. Hopefully it isn't too important. WEP is the least secure, but still better than nothing. Yes I see the network details.
I can choose from my router or something called "Trust control" in that drop down menu. Could I have compromised my security by posting screenshots, as I have, with my ip and other numbers etc.
Setting your trust level to "Protected" will not change the security status of your wireless network as the status alert is actually an indication of whether or not your wireless communication is encrypted.
